I had a suntunnel put in a room in my finished attic which has no windows. It makes a huge difference. The first picture is before and the second is the room with no lights turned on. Just the light coming from the suntunnel. The representative and roofers that helped me were great. Gaithersburg Roofing and Home Improvement, LLC replaced 2 skylights on one of my projects. They came out with sample "mini" skylights of the product "Velux" that they install. They showed my client all of the options for these skylights. We ordered and on the day of install they removed the old skylights and replaced with the new ones exactly as they explained at consultation. They were VERY efficient, tidy, and clean. We'd never had skylights installed, and I was looking for someone who could not only give me a quote, but also help us on the design side with size, placement, and lighting impact on the space. After noticing a leak near one of our skylights, we had Gaithersburg Roofing and Home Improvement (and two other contractors) come out to diagnose the issue and provide a quote for it. Andres was friendly and professional, and quickly identified the skylight as the source of the leak. They were very communicative and pleasant to deal with as we asked questions before deciding to go with them. Once we decided to go ahead with them, everything went well. They showed up on time, and replaced two skylights and the surrounding shingles quickly, and after that they cleaned up any debris. Unfortunately, we noticed another leak after the new skylights were installed, but Andres quickly agreed to come out and fixed it without any questions. They also kindly came by and fixed some additional issues they identified with our chimney. Very happy with their service overall, and would definitely recommend and use again in the future.

I had the team from Gaithersburg Roofing install 4 Velux power opening skylights. The salesman came to my home on time and wore a mask as well as took care to social distance. He was able to give detailed answers to my questions and explained the install process thoroughly. The install team arrived on time and again all wearing masks. They covered my floors and furniture with great care. The work was completed on time and the team even repaired a small portion of my roof that was not included in the install price. Once completed the team cleaned the work area and removed all debris. The foreman took time to explain the remote controls to me. In this day and age unfortunately, it is hard to find good quality skilled tradesman, however the team at Gaithersburg roofing did a great job and I will be sure to use them again. Great service and professionalism and really great product. The automatic operation of the blinds keeps the home cooler and the motors on the blinds are very quiet. We also got a Sun Tunnel and that made a big difference in interior lighting as well. Now we can have the best of both worlds: the nice light that the Velux skylights allow, but the blinds that can shield the house from overheating on the hottest summer days
