We wanted skylights installed and found this company through the Velux website. We interviewed two companies and after meeting with Andres and Cristina we knew we'd go with them. Andres was thorough, knowledgeable and confident he could do what we wanted. Cristina had all the information available at her fingertips to answer my questions and showed us many photos of their completed jobs to help us decide on the design for our project. They even came with a sample skylight in their trailer so we could see and feel the quality of the skylights. On installation day, a very cold day in December, the fantastic 6-person crew arrived well before 8am. They hung plastic sheeting from the ceiling to the floor to enclose the work space, laid down protective paper and canvas tarps to protect the floors and used a specialty air filter to protect us and the crew from excess dust. They laid plastic sheeting over our nearby furniture for additional protection. Outside, our roofline is quite steep and I was relieved to see that the person assigned to be up there wore a safety harness. Andres was here all day working and supervising; the guys doing the drywall finish-work were here until quite late so the next day only final sanding and painting of the drywall needed to be done. (Drywall is not easy to do well, and this crew did an excellent job while standing on a tall ladder working above their heads.) They did a terrific job cleaning up afterwards as well. The finished product exceeds all expectations - we couldn't be more pleased. But more importantly, Andres and Cristina / Skylights & Roofing Experts are the kind of people you WANT working on your home; kind, courteous, professional, friendly, competent and experts at their job.

Everyone was polite, respectful, cleaned up thoroughly — IN ADDITION to competently putting on a beautiful roof … and explained the process every step of the way! We needed a leak diagnosed and were unsure if it was gutter, roof or skylight. Andres and Cristina came out promptly to inspect. They took photos and found the problem right away. I had a suntunnel put in a room in my finished attic which has no windows. It makes a huge difference. The first picture is before and the second is the room with no lights turned on. Just the light coming from the suntunnel. The representative and roofers that helped me were great. Gaithersburg Roofing and Home Improvement, LLC replaced 2 skylights on one of my projects. They came out with sample "mini" skylights of the product "Velux" that they install. They showed my client all of the options for these skylights. We ordered and on the day of install they removed the old skylights and replaced with the new ones exactly as they explained at consultation. They were VERY efficient, tidy, and clean. We'd never had skylights installed, and I was looking for someone who could not only give me a quote, but also help us on the design side with size, placement, and lighting impact on the space. The Marins and company were excellent to work with from start to finish. They were able to promptly come out to inspect my roof and skylight and determine the issues. After noticing a leak near one of our skylights, we had Gaithersburg Roofing and Home Improvement (and two other contractors) come out to diagnose the issue and provide a quote for it. Andres was friendly and professional, and quickly identified the skylight as the source of the leak. They were very communicative and pleasant to deal with as we asked questions before deciding to go with them. Once we decided to go ahead with them, everything went well. They showed up on time, and replaced two skylights and the surrounding shingles quickly, and after that they cleaned up any debris. Unfortunately, we noticed another leak after the new skylights were installed, but Andres quickly agreed to come out and fixed it without any questions. They also kindly came by and fixed some additional issues they identified with our chimney. Very happy with their service overall, and would definitely recommend and use again in the future.

I had the team from Gaithersburg Roofing install 4 Velux power opening skylights. The salesman came to my home on time and wore a mask as well as took care to social distance. He was able to give detailed answers to my questions and explained the install process thoroughly. The install team arrived on time and again all wearing masks. They covered my floors and furniture with great care. The work was completed on time and the team even repaired a small portion of my roof that was not included in the install price. Once completed the team cleaned the work area and removed all debris. The foreman took time to explain the remote controls to me. In this day and age unfortunately, it is hard to find good quality skilled tradesman, however the team at Gaithersburg roofing did a great job and I will be sure to use them again. Great service and professionalism and really great product. The automatic operation of the blinds keeps the home cooler and the motors on the blinds are very quiet. We also got a Sun Tunnel and that made a big difference in interior lighting as well. Now we can have the best of both worlds: the nice light that the Velux skylights allow, but the blinds that can shield the house from overheating on the hottest summer days
