We had an old Velux electric skylight that was inoperable and needed to be replaced. The opportunity came when we decided to reroof our house. The original skylight was deck mounted and we wanted the new skylight to be curb mounted for easier replacement should we need to later. Maxim was very prompt in responding and his costs reasonable. He coordinated with the roofer to remove the old skylight, install the raised frame for the new skylight and temporarily covered the hole. After the roof was installed, he came back to finish installing the new skylight and completing electrical connections. He did a great job! So nice to have a venting skylight again. If I ever need another skylight, I will call Max.

We really enjoyed working with Max at Skylight Construction. Our home had a large 1980's bubble skylight in the bathroom. In addition, our bathroom does not have a window to help with ventilation. We met with Max and he creatively suggested a way to put in 2 Velux replacement skylights, one of which could be opened (solar powered with a remote). He solved two problems at the same time. He communicated clearly with us throughout the process, was accurate in his time estimations and the actual installation was done with no hassles at all. We could not be happier!!

I found this wonderful enterprise to solve the glare problem I was having with my skylight. SO easy! We texted, Max came over, took measurements and BAM - I had this beautiful shade on my skylight a week later. Less than an hour to install. It's a beautiful, well-functioning shade with remote, and it fully blocks the sun. It has made a WORLD of difference in my Home and my Life.

I must say... The entire experience with Maxim, from initial consultation to completion was outstanding!! I requested 3 contractors, 2 of 3 provided quote documents -1 over text. Maxim not only was the lowest in price (by $200 from 1, and $2000 from another).. but was the only one that came in person for the initial quoting. And during the install there was an unforeseen barrier that he remedied without adding additional cost. And not only did Maxim did a great job, but also a great promoters of the Velux Brand.

On needing a skylight replacement due to age and poor original construction, we chose to replace an existing skylight with a Velux product. Velux products are installed by specialists, and we were happy to engage Max. Max came to bid the job and described our options after his rooftop inspection. Once the custom-ordered skylight was available, Max and crew removed the old skylight and installed the new one promptly and carefully. For his solid professional delivery and knowledge, I will turn to Max when other skylights in our house may deserve his attention. You can see in my photo the difficulty of the 3rd floor rooftop installation location, handled easily by Max.

Max did an excellent job with our skylight replacement. He measured and ordered Velux skylights, which look much better than the originals. Upon their arrival from the factory, he promptly installed them. Max was careful to protect the interior of my home with plastic in case of falling debris. We've had an issue with our skylights leaking ever since (oddly enough) we had a new roof put in. Apparently, our old skylights just couldn't handle the strain of being removed and then put back. Anyway, Max was prompt to return my call for an estimate, and upfront about his pricing. I had some lower estimates, but they were for bare-bones work, and I would have had to add on for work needed on the roof, remote blinds, etc. Max actually came out, looked at the skylights, examined the roof, and really listened to us when we explained the problems and what we wanted.(Aside from the leaking, we were also waaay too hot in the summer with the plastic dome skylights) Max gave us solutions that we didn't even know to ask for, and sent us a written estimate within a day or two. I'm really glad we decided to have him do the job! He was clean, professional, quick, and did a much better job at installing the skylights than the original installers. (The original skylights had no kind of slope or curb to divert rain - hence the leaking.) The price was the price - no nickel-and-dime price increases for this or that. Above all the new skylights are beautiful, and the remote blinds were part of the very fair quoted price, not an add-on feature. (I didn't even know blinds for skylights were a thing!) I wish I had a picture of the old ones to show the contrast. They were yellowing from the exposure to sunlight, but these new ones are glass, LowE to only allow light rather than heat in, and he fixed the area around the skylights on the roof by installing proper sloping curbs so water won't pool and/or leak into our living room. Yay! Thank you, Max and Skylight Construction, for our beautiful new skylights!

My husband and I are so thrilled with our new Velux skylights. I wish we had been able to do this sooner. We were referred to Max from friends down in San Juan Capistrano. We have been very pleased with the process from start to finish. Maxim was prompt on each appointment made from start to finish of the job. He was kind, professional and helpful in determining what would work best for us and what wouldn't based on the construction challenges we had with existing solar panels and attic construction with the AC etc now in the attic. If you’re looking for a company to do your skylights or replace skylights you already have, hire Max! I’m so glad I came across his company. We have 2 skylights in our home that were installed decades ago (not by Max) and we were looking to replace them for heat, uv control. Max was thorough, gave us ideas/options, but the part that really made us want to use his company for the job is because he was honest. He went on the roof and checked both skylights. He told us that we didn’t necessarily need to replace one of the skylights because it was fine. So he suggested we only replace one. He gave us a very reasonable quote a few days later and the entire time communicated with us to keep us informed on the process, pricing and timing of when the skylight would come in. When he arrived he brought the skylight (it’s perfect!) and his coworker. They were clean, pretty quick and so kind. We will definitely be using them again!

What an amazing experience. Max did a great job. He gave a quote on price and timeframe and met both. And what a great product. I’ve now had the skylights for a year and they’ve never failed me. They open and close quickly and the blinds work perfectly and in sync as well. In addition, we’ve been through several heavy rains and not a drop of water to be seen. Skylight construction just replaced our decade-old acrylic skylight with a bronze cleared glass skylight today. Max is very fast at replying my call or message. The first time when he came for a quote, I was surprised he brought a cushion getting on my roof. He is very careful of my roof tiles. He came today on time and replaced my skylight about an hour. There is dust on the wood under the skylight. He explained what caused the dust to accumulate and did something he thinks will help. I am very happy with his service.

Max and his team did an amazing job replacing our two 30+ year old skylights in our bedroom and bathroom. These had been slowing leaking for years and I had put it off for fear of the hassle, but Max made the process very easy and did quality work. There was no change to the original estimate even though accessing our old skylights to remove took extra time due to the previous reroofing which covered the brackets and were hidden. The new skylights look amazing and make such an incredible difference in the lighting and feel of our rooms. I will be reaching out again soon for some Sun Tunnel work!

I highly recommend Max from Skylight Construction. We had a cracked skylight and found Skylight Construction on the Velux website. I sent an email on Friday and was surprised when Max contacted me on Saturday. Max came out to Corona on the following Monday to determine the size of the skylight and sent the proposal that night. Max let me know when the skylight was ordered, when it arrived, and then called to schedule the installation in a couple of days. On the day of the installation, he kept me apprised of any changes in the schedule. I am extremely satisfied with Max and Skylight Construction.

We replaced 37 yr old skylights that were terrible at heat gain, and actually increased the temperature in the house. We chose to get Velux Solar powered flat glass skylights that open and have shades for the hottest days of the year. Interviewed three companies, and Max has by far the best approach and listens to what you want. His price is very fair and he is very knowledgeable. One company wanted us to do retrofit work on the ceiling on the inside for several thousands of dollars. Another said to get a custom size skylight and wanted to charge a ridiculous price. Geez. Completely unnecessary. Max solved the problem with our bigger skylight by using 2 square standard size skylights and created a modified curb to deal with it. Looks great on the inside and out. Max and his worker were very careful and did a fabulous job. I highly recommend using his company. BTW, what I didn't realize was the flat glass skylights give you a beautiful view of the sky and the clouds. Never had that before. AND, what a huge difference in the heat gain inside the house. We open the skylights at night and a window on the 1st floor. The air flow is fabulous. Our house is about 5-8 degrees cooler all day.

The difference between Max and the other skylight companies is you’re dealing directly with the business owner who also happens to do the work of repairing, replacing, or installing skylights. You’re not paying to train an apprentice to work on your roof. Max is the real deal and he is prompt, professional, honest, and hard working along with his helper. I would highly recommend him.

Max was extremely helpful and responsive when it came to replacing the blind on our skylight. We had been waiting for Velux to replace the broken blind of our skylight and finally they connected us to Max. He contacted us straight away and set up a time to come and fix it. Max is a great guy. He was prompt, courteous and most of all very competent. He found the problem, repaired it very efficiently and made sure everything was in working order before he left.
