Installation Process
Expert installation made easy.
VELUX® skylight systems and Sun Tunnel® Skylights can be installed in flat or vaulted ceilings in two worry-free phases: rooftop and interior. The pros at Skylights Plus - OH will recommend where skylight systems should be installed, so you can reap the maximum benefit from the natural light and fresh air they provide.
Installation Types
The Room
VELUX-trained pros will come inside for interior finish work and possible painting. If you have a flat ceiling, your installer will use drywall or other finish material to build a shaft from the skylight to direct the daylight into the room. This phase takes around half a day per skylight.
The Rooftop
VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole and fasten the VELUX skylight to the roof with three layers of protection to prevent leaks. Depending on the circumstances such as roof pitch and weather, the rooftop phase can take between one and three days.

The Room
VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole in the ceiling to install the lower portion of the reflective tube between the roof and ceiling.
The Rooftop
VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole in the roof and install the top collar, the upper portion of the reflective tunnel, the lens and the flashing.

The Room
There may be a small amount of interior drywall work depending on your replacement situation, but the majority of the replacement process will take place on the roof.

On time, removed old bubble skylights and installed new shaded skylights. The whole skylight looks 100% better that the old one did when it was new. The installer was in and out in a couple of hours. Polite, considerate. We are so impressed with his work will recommend him to anyone. Can not believe how much noise reduction the new skylights bring.

Very responsive. Replaced glass and glazing on 5 windows quickly and very affordable. The "other guys" wanted to replace the entire units. Skylights Plus said it wasn't necessary to replace the woods frames on my units. Very honest with integrity. Very happy with the results at a fraction of the price. Superb company and great price. They are a certified installer of the brand of skylight we had installed. The gentleman that gave us the quote was also the installer. No salesperson involved. They arrived promptly at the time stated. Quite professional and cleaned up well. All contractors could learn a valuable lesson from this company. Would give them 100 stars if I could!

This company is dedicated to providing quality skylight installation and repair. We have 4 skylights in our Great Room and we wanted to upgrade the glass to Low-E and have some tint to cut down on the effects of the sun on our woodwork. We were told by other companies that we would have to completely replace our skylights in order to change the glass but after calling Skylights Plus we learned that they could simply replace and upgrade the glass WITHOUT replacing the entire skylight! This company does quality work and if any problems occur they are quick to address them to the customers' satisfaction.

This is a one-man operation and Bob the owner does it all, so I don't understand the other review about "employee" misconduct. He's a good guy and he replaced two completely dilapidated skylights with the latest in energy efficient and UV protected skylights. In addition, he replaced the glass on two other skylights that were in better shape, extending their life. He quickly came by when I contacted him, gave his recommendations, ordered the components and then a week or so later, came back and replaced them all in less than two hours at a very fair price. All in all, it was a great experience.

Great company! They are very friendly and know what they are talking about. They do a great job at getting the job done quickly and they also do a great job at cleaning up everything. I couldn’t even tell they were here until I looked up at my new skylight! Definitely go with skylights plus if you need something repaired, fixed or installed!
