The Palisades fire earlier this year damaged two skylights in my house. I did a lot of research before deciding to use this company because, as an Airbnb host with all 5-star reviews myself, I could tell that the reviews for this company were genuine. Nikita patiently guided me through the daunting process, since I wanted multiple upgrades — from vinyl to glass and from stationary to solar-powered. The installation guys, Yukon and Oleg, were super polite and efficient. They prepared the areas very well and cleaned up thoroughly afterward. I couldn’t be happier with the result!

I recently replaced a Velux residential skylight with Skylight Service Center. After the initial installation they brought to my attention a manufacturing defect and gave me the opportunity to replace with a new skylight with no defects. I accepted that offer and they came out a few weeks later to reinstall a new, pristine skylight at no extra cost. I'm glad we decided to proceed with Skylight Service Center. Cody and his team just finished replacing a big skylight on our two story home, which had to be custom made. They also installed some solar shades and did a great job to make it look neat and clean. The team arrived on time and were very courteous and respectful. What impressed me most though, was that when the crane that was supposed to lift the big skylight up to our roof didn't come as scheduled, and no other cranes were available to come that day, Cody and his team manually lifted the big skylight up themselves! I was so thankful he didn't leave me with a big hole in the roof overnight! Furthermore, they replaced the roof tiles that they broke when carrying the skylight up, with some spare tiles I had. It hasn't rained yet, so can't comment about any leaks or not, but I'm sure their work will hold up. I definitely recommend them and know who to go to for my other skylights!

We had our three 25-year-old skylights replaced by Cody at Skylight Service Center. Our old skylights were replaced with the new solar, auto opening, and auto shaded skylights. First off, Cody was great. He and his team were very professional, polite and just a pleasure to do business with. The skylights arrive and were installed with no issues at a very reasonable price. We are very satisfied. And as for the skylights, wow! I open them in the evening and cool air gets pulled into the house and cools the place nicely (without even using the AC). And during the hot days, I can close the shades, blocking out the sun and keeping the house cooler. I would do this again in a heartbeat, and of course, use Cody and Skylight Service Center again. Job well done!

But after contacting other skylight companies for estimates, and being so disappointed by their poor customer service, I called SSC. I was pleasantly surprised that Skylight Service Center answered by call with welcoming conversation, saying they were more than happy to come to my home for the estimate in just a matter of a few days. I searched Yelp to find a company to replace my 20+ year old skylights. Cody responded quickly and gave me an estimate. It took a couple of weeks to get the new skylights ordered and delivered to Skylight Service Center. The installation took about 4 hours to install two new skylights. The installation crew laid out plastic to keep everything tidy. The new skylight on the patio too a lot more work. The old one was leaking water during the rain. The wood framing of the skylight was water damaged and termite damaged. The crew installed new framing and painted it white to match the wood in the patio. The new Velux skylights are fantastic. I can look up and see the sky instead of looking at the clouded over plastic of the old skylights. Overall, I highly recommend Skylight Service Center. Great communication. Reasonable cost. Professional installers.

I am thrilled I found Cody to install my kitchen skylight. I was very concerened about cuttiing a hole in the roof of my 73 year old house but Cody answered all my questions, gave me several options, and then gave me a quote that was extremely reasonable. I love the bright new look of our home! The Cody team installed two skylights for us, one of which has ventilation. I am very happy with their work; so far, so good—there have been no leaks, even after the recent wild storm! They completed everything promptly as promised and cleaned up afterward. The product is expensive and required heavy work, taking three days to install. However, the impact of the skylights is significant and truly changes the feel of our home! We are thinking of adding one to our bedroom!

Last month I had to replace my old skylight, custom sized. Cody was good at communicating, always be responsive and professional. Since my skylight was custom sized, I had to wait a month since I signed a contract but the replacing job was done less than 3 hours. The people were very professional and cleaned up after the installation. I like my new skylight!

I had to replace a Sun Tunnel that was really old. I called the original company and a few others. They gave me some song and dance about how I would need a new 20K roof. I contacted Skylight Service Center, and they gave me a fair price to replace the old tunnel and repair the portions of the roof that would be impacted. Communication and work were great.

Cody, Ury and their team did an outstanding job replacing four old Velux Skylight Windows with new amazing windows, including blinds. The installation crew arrived on time, were courteous, hard working and cleaned everything perfectly at the end of each day. We have a very steep roof on our 3rd floor, so it was a daunting job. They listened and addressed all my concerns promptly. They matched my 10 year old roof shingles (the area looks newer but will fade as the old have.) I am extremely happy with the results, and love the new features of the updated Velux windows that were recommended. I definitely recommend Skylight Service Company from San Pedro!

Pros: Cody was punctual and he gauged our rafters would be 16" apart but he couldn't be sure until he opened up the roof. We appreciated his "under promise over deliver" transparency, because once he got in, we were all surprised that we would have 18" of skylight!! Yury and his installation team were great and when I was unsatisfied with a small detail, they were kind and graciously fixed the caulking before I signed off on approval. When I asked Yury about upgrades like the Smart Home Control or metal screen instead of nylon, he was honest with his opinion and didn't try to upsell me on products or additional labor. He did reassure me though it's a very simple install I could do myself if I changed my mind. It's been a few days now and the 3 kids have played with the remote making the skylight open and close, and no issues yet. Cons: We were hoping to install 2, but with limited financing options, we were only able to afford 1 paying cash upfront. An in house financing option would've been great if offered. The kids bathroom had some debris all around the tub. It was obvious they tried their best to sweep it up, but if they had a shop vac to pick up the fine dust, that would've been nice. Everything else like the walls and ceiling were neat and clean. Overall, I'd recommend them and would hire Cody and his team again to install my 2nd ventilated skylight -- when I save enough money again :)

I recently had 5 cracked skylights which needed to be replaced. I called Skylight service center and got an appt for estimate the next day with Cody. As soon as the custom skylights were ready I received a text for an installation date. On installation date three young men arrived on time, worked quietly and quickly and left everything clean afterwards. Great company, professional workers and I am very happy with the results. Very professional company. We needed to replace a large skylight in the house. They measured the old one correctly and installed the new custom skylight quickly and properly.

I decided to look for estimates on the skylights in my backyard veranda. I wasn’t sure how old the old skylights were but they were leaking around the edges when it rained and when we bought our house in 2020, the inspector had told us that we might need to reseal them. I wanted to replace them entirely because the wood around them was becoming compromised from the water over time and the water leaking through was affecting our patio furniture. I’m so glad that I found Cody and his team. The quote was a fair price and he mentioned how they would reinforce any weaknesses they found. Cody answered any and all questions very quickly and adjusted the quote giving me different options (frosted or clear glass, etc). His team was thorough and left the skylights looking amazing, the wood looking better than before, and no trace of a mess anywhere. I can’t wait for the next rain because I know there won’t be anymore leaking.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a company whose employees were totally professional. Of course I had unseen damage to my roof outside the quoted price. I had Cody's team come and replace 2 skylights in my attic. Cody is a great at communicating. His prices are fair. His team arrived on time and worked hard the whole day to get the project done by the end of the day. They wore shoe covers and carefully covered the work area. They left the area cleaner than it was! They also showed me pictures of the roof to prove they didn't damage anything and they walk me through the different features of my new skylights. We are currently remodeling our home and wanted to add some extra light. Cody and his team installed three Velux Sun Tunnels in the master bath and hallway. They did a wonderful job and their work looks beautiful, both inside the house and also on the roof. They were on time (which is very important to me) and very professional. I would definitely recommend and use them again!

Everything was done professionally and as described in the bid. We had a huge skylight installed, 75x75 in. They arranged for a crane to come and lift it to the roof, and everything went smoothly, no issues. I can particularly recommend Cody. If there are any leaks after the next rain, then I'll update this post, but I'm not expecting any.

We had 3 30 year old velux skylights that needed replacing. Contacted the skylight service center in San pedro. Cody got back to us quickly. Came by and gave us an estimate also quickly. After he went over the options we decided to get the solar powered ventilated ones with shades that work by remote control. ( Which we are very happy with, no more cranking etc. ).We agreed, and gave him a deposit. It took a few weeks to get them in. Then we scheduled an installation appointment between rain storms. He and his crew were professional, polite, efficient and friendly. It took a couple of days to do it correctly as there is more work to it than I realized. Anyhow they did a great job, and we are very happy with the whole process, and the work and skylights come with solid guarantee! Thanks again Cody & Crew

Amazing work done at my home. Everything turned out great and Cody communicated with me very well throughout.

One, two, three done! Cody came with a proposal. The replacement roof window was ordered. The crew showed up at 9 am and it was installed and everything cleaned up by 2. We went with the window that qualifies for the 30% solar credit. We also had several windows that need to be replaced and Cody recommended another company for that. It is nice to work with a company that has a good network.

This company is not just good - they are FANTASTIC! Cody and his team bring back craftsmanship that is a thing of the past. My home is older, so nothing is exactly straight or plumb. That has lead others to fill and cheat and end up with a high price paid for a less than stellar finished product. Cody’s team came in, corrected the issues created by past contractors and then Cody and team worked through solutions until hitting on absolute finished product perfection. Who does that extra work and provide that extra level of pride in workmanship in 2024? Beyond that, Cody was always forthright and honest and he went to great lengths to make sure I understood the process and my choices. Cody and his team were always respectful and they were a welcome and pleasant group to have in my home. I could not possibly recommend them enough. 5 stars does not begin to cover it - they are more like 500 stars. Hire them without hesitation.

Cody and his crew replaced our two skylights this past winter. They were leaking and had probably been installed when the house was build 30+ years ago. At first we called a roofing company that also worked on skylights, but they wanted to do $10k of roof work in addition to the skylights (we just had our roof serviced last summer). We decided to get a second opinion, so we called Cody. When he got up there, he saw that our old skylights were installed with the wrong flashings. We were worried about the total cost, since we were doing other work on the house at the same time. Cody's pricing was very fair, and he only did work that was necessary. He also recommended that we use a skylight with a solar powered shade to get a rebate on the total cost of the skylights (that saved us a significant amount of money!). Cody and his team were extremely professional and just a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them for any skylight related issues!

Highly recommended. We finally had to replace our old skylight. It was atleast 30 years old. Sent an inquiry and was immediately contacted by Cody. Setup a quick meet via text. He came and gave us some options and did some measurements. We were able to complete money transactions by Zelle which was awesome. Installation went super smooth. We got some rain today and so far no leaks. Even if we did have issues though, I know that I can contact the company and they’d fix it right away.

I got their information from the Velux website. I tried 2 others before I called these guys. Third times a charm for sure. Once our skylight was ordered, they promised an 8 hour install time. During the entire time of the install, the crew couldn't have been more professional. l highly recommend their services.They both reroofed around the skylight and did drywall work on the inside of a vaulted ceiling. The cleanup was spotless.

Cody is professional and technically very competent. Responded promptly to my need to have all three skylights replaced. Did an onsite inspection and promptly submitted a quote that same evening. After installing he responded with another visit that I called for him to liaise with the roofing company for what needed to be done to proper sealing of the sides. Cody was so great to work with on this project. I had contacted a few other companies and they all either didn’t call back or show up for appointments. Cody was very efficient from beginning to end. He sent an estimate about an hour after he looked at the job. My skylight took about 10 days to come in because it is a custom size. Cody called me the day he received it to set up a date for installation. His crew arrived on time and worked non-stop all day. Once the old skylight was removed a problem with the roof surrounding the opening was revealed and they fixed that as well? I highly recommend this company am thrilled to have my new skylight

Cody at Skylight Service Center came out to provide a proposal to replace a few skylights and add a few as part of a re-roofing project. He was friendly, personable and knowledgable and was very helpful in answering all my questions. He even pointed out how my original planned skylight location would not work and suggested a new location. Other vendors had also gone up on the roof to check and none up to that point noticed or mentioned this issue! It was clear to me that Cody was very detail-oriented and would do a stellar job with installation. The proposal he provided was detailed and competitively priced. While I took a while coordinating other aspects of my roofing project, Cody was patient and followed up regularly. In the end, I decided to contract with my selected roofing company to handle the skylight installation. If the roofing company did not offer skylight installation (many of those I spoke to did not), there is no doubt I would have hired Skylight Service Center to handle the work.
