I contacted several roofing and gutter companies to get estimates for a few projects. I am very happy that I chose Saber Roofing for plenty of reasons. 1) The owner, Ryan, met with me to discuss the work and was very thorough and helpful in answering all my questions. 2) Important details were covered including adding a rain chain in a location where a downspout would have been unsightly (picture attached). Among the details, the rain chain is made of copper while the gutter is made of aluminum. Having these two metals come in contact could compromise the aluminum over time. So, Saber installed the copper rain chain with a protective barrier. 3) Their client service and sales director, Jake, was super helpful and extremely responsive to all my questions. 4) The crew was very efficient, provided high quality workmanship, and left the site spotless. 5) The gutter guards that were installed provide a really fine barrier to prevent even small debris from entering my gutters, but are easy to rinse so that fine particles can be washed through the gutters. 6) The two downspouts that were installed were matched to the color of our trim. Other companies offer limited colors or simply white downspouts, but Saber offers a wide variety. 7) Their pricing is very competitive. From end to end, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Saber Roofing.

Last spring I started looking for a roofing contractor to replace the roof and some skylights on my Victorian style house in Los Altos. My house has many roof surfaces on three levels. I wanted a team that could handle complexity. I saw that Saber roofing had good reviews and from the pictures on their site I saw that they had worked on complex roofs like mine. I met with Ryan Saber, and he clearly laid out his plan for replacing my roof. I liked his level of detail and that he offered, as part of the contract, an extended warranty on workmanship that was longer than any of the other roofers who made bids. I signed with them, and I gave them two calendar windows in the summer for doing the work. They called me at the beginning of the second window to schedule. The team showed up when they said they would, they worked hard for two weeks and they finished on schedule. At the end of each day they picked up any significant debris they created that day. The foreman, Juan, came to the property each day and would discuss the progress made that day with me if I was home and send me an email and pictures if I wasn’t there. He explained what they had done and what they were going to do the next day. There were no surprises. Juan told me that many members of the installation team had been with the company for years. It showed. The team seemed to enjoy their work. They found some rotten wood and replaced it. They also made several improvements to my roof by adding additional flashings to divert water and by the use of new ventilation holes and ridge caps to help moisture escape. I had not specifically asked for these, but I was very pleased that they made these improvements. They also replaced eight skylights with much more modern skylights. The new skylights that have greatly improved the rooms on which they were installed. They found some hidden damage earlier roofers had ignored and went to great effort in making it right. After some bad experiences with contractors in the past couple of years, it was important to me to hire a company that employed professionals, produced good quality work and met their commitments. Saber Roofing did all of that. While not cheap, their prices were competitive with the other bids I received. The work was very high quality. I strongly recommend them.

Some notes from my experience with them: - they have a lot of work, so we had to wait a bit longer for them to come inspect our roof, but it was well worth it. I had 2 other companies come see my roof, and you clearly see the difference... - Between the actual re-roofing date and the moment we contracted with them we had a few months of winter, so they put in place some protection for the parts of our roof that already had issues and gave us a good price for that. - They were very flexible with the actual date for the re-roof, they were able to accommodate us when we asked to postpone the work for a month to let our baby go through his 4 month sleep regression. - On the job they were very professional, they gave us updates every day with photos and kept us in the loop for any decision to make. Our roof needed some small repairs at the edge and our skylights were more than 30 years old and deteriorating. Saber Roofing installed a solar tube/Sun Tunnel in a dark stairway. The work was done by a team of professionals who were efficient, friendly and courteous. We replaced a leaking torch down flat roof that had caused significant interior ceiling damage over the last two years, that was applied by another roofer, with a new PVC based flat roof using Saber Roofing. They had also done our sled roofs a few years ago and did a great job on those. Saber did a top notch job, and replaced our 6 skylights in the process as well, giving us a very fireproof roof which is important where we live. They started on time, worked very fast, and did a high quality job with the best materials (80 mill PVC and DenseDeck fireproofing). We strongly recommend Saber Roofing for any type of roofing system. Over the last 40 years I have dealt with many roofing companies and Saber far exceeds any of them in quality of the work.

Second, to replace the flat roof section of my house (which is surrounded by a delicate sloped clay tile roof). I was referred to Ryan by my neighbor when the prior roofing company failed the job of repairs. Our roof was leaking for a couple of years. It was a complex issue because the leaking area was under the solar panels. Ryan was very responsive addressing my questions and concerns. Many of our roof shingles were damaged during tenting for termite extermination. The roof is large and complex with many angles on an approximate 4000 sq ft house. We selected Saber Roofing previously for minor roof repairs based on Yelp reviews. Their performance was outstanding. We thus asked them to evaluate the current roof damage. They were very responsive even though we were in the middle of COVID with the associated challenges. Their lead evaluator is outstanding. He thoroughly reviewed the roof. There were about 100 damaged tiles and he immediately provided a repair estimate which his team could complete in a few weeks. He also advised the roof was a composite material popular about 20 years ago which quickly deteriorates. He estimated our roof would last about 5 more years. He also showed me extensive gutter rust clearly evident from the roof. This again was due to inferior materials. He was very low key and did not push the replacement of the roof or gutter. We had a simple rational discussion of the tradeoffs of repair vs replacement. He told me about the current technologies of roof material, gutters, skylights, solar, etc. I did a lot of construction in a previous lifetime including roofs. Their advisor's knowledge is extremely impressive. This house has extensive sun exposure causing cooling issues in the summer. He recommended a CA certified solar reflective shingle, automated attic fans, new skylight and gutters which they form from aluminum in seamless sections on site. They also recommended an electric solar vendor. They were extremely helpful in guiding us in the roof material selection process including providing references which we visited. We thus replaced the entire roof, gutters, skylight, and installed new attic fans and electric solar. We could not have been more pleased with the quality of the workmanship, professionalism, and responsiveness. I was at the house during the entire roof removal and installation. Their team is outstanding, simply the best. They work hard and effectively as a well oiled machine. Again, I've done a lot of roofing. I could not be more impressed with their work quality and craftsmanship. We decided to install electric solar with their recommended vendor. The solar supports were thus installed with the roof providing the optimal foundation. Their attention to detail is impressive. They replaced all new roof vents and painted these the same color as the roof. The Saber team constantly updated me on status, issues and recommendations. I could not have been more pleased. The resultant roof is outstanding, simply maginificent. I will readily give vendors a negative or bad review. Saber has my strongest endorsement. You should look no further for your roofing needs.

Saber Roofing just completed replacing the roof on our house, and we are very happy with the work they did. I had another firm bid on the job, as well, and the estimates were very close. It was an easy decision to go with Saber because they've been around for awhile, and they seem likely to be around for awhile longer, which is probably more important to me. As with other reviewers, my primary contact was Ryan Saber, and he is every bit as communicative and responsive as others have said. It was great to have a daily update on progress and a forecast of the next day's work. I also interacted with Juan, who supervised the actual work. Juan was very knowledgeable and professional and something like a MacGyver when solving some problems that plagued us with the old roof. He clearly has dealt with every problem we had and more. They delivered all the fixes he promised they would, and now I am actually looking forward to a heavy rain to confirm they work, as I am certain they will. The crew varied in size based on the work that needed to be done that day. They worked well together and made sure the job site was clean and clear of debris at the end of every day. In all, it took one day for demolition and five days to install the new roof, taking only a Sunday off, completing the job within the time Ryan had estimated. If I had a complaint, it would be that it took Saber Roofing 4 months to get to our job instead of the 2-3 months initially estimated, but all I really cared about was getting the roof done before our kids come home for Christmas, and Ryan made sure that happened when I told him that was my goal. Some things are worth waiting for, though, and working with a contractor who is communicative and stays on schedule is one of those things. There is a reason Saber Roofing is so busy.

I think Saber Roofing is excellent! They put new gutters on our home a few years ago and did an excellent job then. We decided to put a Sun Tunnel / solar tube in one of our bathrooms. Ryan came out and provided us a competitive bid for the job. He suggested that because we were remodeling the bathroom we should hold off on the solar tube and do it when the bathroom was finished. He followed up with me a couple of months later and scheduled his installer to come out the next day. Martin showed up with his (COVID) mask on and was ready to work. He did an excellent job and left not one bit of dust behind. This bathroom has much better light coming in now. Ryan followed up with me the next day and reminded me that I qualified for a 26% federal tax credit and sent all the paperwork to me. They made this job easy! Ryan even noticed some work that needed to be done on a different roof, which he would include at no charge. Pricing was reasonable for a re-roof overlay with a great warranty (labor and materials). Work was done right before the rains and it was very cold and windy. Ryan's crew arrived on-time and worked until dark. Amazing, especially considering how extremely cold and windy it was. We'd like to give a shout-out to Saber Roofing. They did a great job replacing our wooden shingles with composite. From the start, Ryan at Saber Roofing responded quickly to every call and email. The men who did the work were efficient, professional and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of every day. Ryan gave us a daily summary of what had been done and what had yet to be done. The roof looks terrific.

We called and with 24 hours Ryan came out explained what he would do and provided a quote 30 minutes later. They cam out and installed electric attic vent. They did a great job!

Ryan and his team did an AMAZING job. I researched many roofers and interviewed three before deciding on Saber Roofing. They were not the cheapest of bids because they proposed PVC which is a more expensive material. But for a roof I hope will last 50 years I want the best not the cheapest, and Saber is the best. Although the project was delayed by the whole global pandemic thing, once construction was able to begin Ryan delivered on his estimates perfectly, even in the face of the unexpected (an old gravel roof underneath the roof). He was also considerate and proactive about dealing with the fallout of said gravel roof on the neighbor's property. I recommend Saber Roofing wholeheartedly and without any reservation.

This is our 2nd time using Saber. The first a few yrs ago for a small repair on our RWC home. This time they redid all the sloped shingles on our current home. Ryan and Jake are incredibly professional and straightforward to work with. They're work crews are professionals that have been with the company many years in most cases. They do a beautiful job no matter the scale of the work to be done, from simple to very complex. Our shingles were vintage 1990 and had portions of dry rot underneath. We started getting estimates from different roofing companies in late Fall of 2019 when we learned it was time to replace our wood shake roof. We really liked the look of shake but knew that from a cost and insurance perspective, we needed to move to composite. Ryan Saber was incredibly professional and walked us through all the different composite options. Although his estimate was actually the highest of all, we decided to hire his company because he inspired the most confidence. We could not have been happier with the installation, his team and how they met all the Covid safety requirements during the job. Not only was Ryan responsive and patient with all of our questions but he helped us find the perfect composite shingle style and color and it's unbelievable to be saying this but we think it looks equally as good as our shake roof did and possibly even better. Saber Roofing has helped maintain the roof of my office building for a few years. They are quick and efficient with my time, and the fixes have been thorough, and effective. They just completed a larger re-roofing of a flat section of our office complete with rigid insulation, and a membrane. Saber worked together with their solar installer Freedom to coordinate the install of the roof with the placement of solar panels. Saber Roofing did a really wonderful job patching up our chimney breast and rather elderly shake roof. They were courteous, expert, and extremely prompt. Call Saber first! I wish I had. The roofer I chose talked a good game, but we had nothing but problems during the install. I contacted Saber Roofing for an independent inspection of the finished roof. Ryan Saber and his general manager came out. True professionals. Ryan doesn't just run a roofing company, he participates in the roofing industry on a national level, he knows and applies best practices. His aim was not to disparage work done by someone else, but to truly assess the soundness of our new roof. He took a lot of photos and explained his findings. He gave us a practical plan to correct the areas of most concern. After speaking with Ryan and watching him and his general manager in action, I so regret finding Saber Roofing too late to use them for the original installation.

I'd give Saber 6 stars if I could. They recently re-roofed our house and replaced our gutters. Communications were excellent throughout, quick and thorough. They even provided daily progress updates with photos, which was especially helpful as we were out of town while the work was done. The finished product was of high quality, including cleanup: the site was spotless when they left. Saber is certified with a number of shingle manufacturers: GAF, Owens Corning, etc. That enables them to provide longer warranties than other roofing companies, plus Saber really understands the pros/cons of various roofing alternatives. Pricing is competitive, too. We got quotes from three reputable roofers in the area; Saber's price was the best.

Saber Roofing is amazing! We had them replace our roof and gutters. They did a fantastic job with it and it looks amazing! I would recommend them in a heartbeat (and already have!). Their attention to detail is amazing. Here is an example: I had asked for all vents to be upgraded to high-wind vents, but they didn't have the right size available for one of the vents so they used the old one temporarily for two days. Here is the attention-to-detail part: they painted it and fixed the bend in it from before! Yes, that's probably not a lot of extra work, but they cared enough to do that for something they replaced in a few days. Anyone who pays that much attention to what they are doing surely takes pride in their work and I'm confident that this is true about Saber Roofing. Both Jake and Ryan are a pleasure to work with. They answered all of my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly -- and I had a lot of questions. I knew nothing about roofing when I started the quoting process with them and, by the time I signed the contract, I felt like I was making very informed decisions about what will be installed on our roof. In contrast, a few other roofing contractors I got quotes from either ignored my questions or answered in one-liners that didn't answer my question at all.

We had a great experience with Saber Roofing. We needed old downspouts removed and new ones installed, and had some particular needs about where some of them would fit. Ryan responded very quickly by phone, and let me know what they needed from me in order to provide a quote. Ryan and Jake were patient when I incorrectly emailed the photos of what we needed, and then called to clarify a couple of things they needed to know. They provided a quick quote once they had the necessary information, and set appropriate expectations for when to expect the job to be done. They set up a time for the work to be done, had the workers come out when they said they would, and they finished the job as expected (actually, better than I expected!), for exactly what they quoted (which was lower than what another company with poor communication skills quoted, by the way). They followed up by email after the job was completed, and were friendly and polite, all the way through. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, or to hire them again in the future if we have any roofing/gutter needs.
