Installation Process
Expert installation made easy.
VELUX® skylight systems and Sun Tunnel® Skylights can be installed in flat or vaulted ceilings in two worry-free phases: rooftop and interior. The pros at Roofing & More, Inc will recommend where skylight systems should be installed, so you can reap the maximum benefit from the natural light and fresh air they provide.
Installation Types
The Room
VELUX-trained pros will come inside for interior finish work and possible painting. If you have a flat ceiling, your installer will use drywall or other finish material to build a shaft from the skylight to direct the daylight into the room. This phase takes around half a day per skylight.
The Rooftop
VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole and fasten the VELUX skylight to the roof with three layers of protection to prevent leaks. Depending on the circumstances such as roof pitch and weather, the rooftop phase can take between one and three days.

VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole in the ceiling to install the lower portion of the reflective tube between the roof and ceiling.
The Rooftop
VELUX-trained pros will cut a hole in the roof and install the top collar, the upper portion of the reflective tunnel, the lens and the flashing.

There may be a small amount of interior drywall work depending on your replacement situation, but the majority of the replacement process will take place on the roof.

In the end, we are happy with our new roof, skylights and gutter system. It did however require more effort to get here than should have been expected. Roofing & More showed up when they said they would, and showed concern regarding their mistakes and fixed them promptly. However, these issues were avoidable and shouldn't have occurred. First, they had installed two damaged/defective skylights and left it up to us to detect the dented frame and poor-fitting cladding. To give them credit, they replaced these without question when the issue was pointed out. The greater issue was how they left their work site. On the first night the installers essentially blocked every route out of the house with shingles, nails, hoses, electric cables, trash and their truck. It was as if they dropped everything at quitting time and went home. After we complained, all following nights they cleaned the site before quitting for the day. The final clean-up was pretty good, but I'm still finding nails, screws, plastic, shingle and tar paper scraps on the ground. Regardless we shouldn't have needed to complain. This is my second roof replacement in the past three years, just not on the same house or with the same company, so I have a basis to compare our experience to.

Perfectly happy with the Roofing & More, Inc job. They came as early as the weather permitted, and worked to get the job done within the one-day time frame. (They removed two very old skylights and replaced them on a flat roof in my home.) The work was finished, the interior finished work was clean and well done, and they cleaned up the worksite, the interior spaces where they had to come through the roof, and the yard outside. I would recommend them! Nothing was added, no changes were made.

I have used Roofing & More for three separate jobs and there is a reason I keep coming back. 1. Replaced a sliding door, regular door, 5 windows (all custom made), and 3 skylights. 2. Replaced my entire roof, while working with a separate insulation company to upgrade our roof insulation. 3. Replaced the siding on 1/2 my house. With all of these jobs, they have not once let me down. They were on time, finished when they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves. On the off chance a mistake was made, they admitted it and solved the problem at no extra charge. I would highly recommend this company.

R&M professionals did an excellent job at my home recently on R&R the Velux roof skylight, the property/site was cleaned up perfectly & from the ground all looks good👍 There was minimal disruption to the skylight drywall tunnel leading to the roof where all work was performed! Performed work in 2 days. Roger had his crew running well both days. The home office made accommodations to meet our schedule. The crew cleaned the 4 skylights from the roof.

We love our new Velux Sun Tunnels 14" It brings so much light to our hallway. We no longer have to turn light on during the day. Staff and crew was very helpful. Discuss with me the best location for the Sun Tunnel and did a great job of installation and cleanup .
