Reduce your monthly utility bill and be an energy-smart consumer without sacrificing comfort and convenience by investing in ENERGY STAR® products. All major home appliances must meet federal energy standards but products that receive the ENERGY STAR approval increase comfort and quality while reducing energy costs.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) started ENERGY STAR in 1992 to reduce air pollution by reducing electrical generation from coal-powered plants. The Department of Energy (DOE) joined the EPA in 1996 by labeling products like appliances and windows to promote energy efficiency.

VELUX, the world's leading manufacturer of roof windows and skylights, was the first skylight manufacturer to meet the ENERGY STAR approval guidelines in all climate zones.

If all residential windows in the US were replaced with ENERGY STAR qualifying models, the nation would save $7 billion* in energy costs over the next 15 years. Fifteen percent* of the total energy bill can be reduced just by using ENERGY STAR approved windows.

"VELUX was one of the first building products manufacturers to recognize the customer's benefit of labeling energy-efficient products," comments Jim Russell, ENERGY STAR representative. "VELUX was also the first skylight manufacturer to offer quality, energy-efficient skylights that improve the living environment for people all over the world."

When making improvements to your home, look for the ENERGY STAR labels on products like windows and appliances that will use less energy, save more money and help protect the environment.
